Dr. King’s Letter from a Birmingham Jail: A Community Recitation

Friday, April 12, 2024 | 10:00 am to 1:00 pm

BCRI Grand Staircase, 520 16th Street N, Birmingham

Join us as we commemorate the 61st anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s Letter from Birmingham Jail. This 6,500-word composition, penned by Dr. King while incarcerated in a Birmingham city jail for marching without a permit, is arguably one of the greatest critiques of American society.

Whether you want to read (sign up here) or take in these powerful words from the audience, we hope you will join us along the way of this 3-hour scheduled recitation event.
