Join us for Celebrating the Spirit of Gee’s Bend, an event honoring the rich cultural heritage and artistic legacy of the Gee’s Bend Quilters.
Saturday, March 29 | 4:00 to 7:00 PM
Hosted by the Freedom Quilting Bee Legacy in partnership with the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute, this special gathering will showcase the artistry of quilt making, featuring a curated display of authentic handmade quilts, a quilting demonstration, and an opportunity to hear and see the history of the Gee’s Bend Quilters come to life.

This event will offer a preview of the Airing of the Quilts Festival, providing attendees with a deeper connection to the rich cultural tradition of quilting. This event is also a part of BCRI’s Women’s History Month programming.
